Farwell couldn’t keep up with visiting Meridian on Friday, falling to the Mustangs 71-44 in Jack Pine Conference boys basketball.
Meridian led 20-6 after the first quarter, despite six points by Trent Marhofer in the frame. Curtis Robinson had five points in the second quarter, including a three-pointer but the Eagles fell behind 33-15 at the half.
Meridian outscored Farwell 25-11 in the third quarter with the Eagles playing to an 18-13 edge in the fourth quarter, highlighted by Dylan Brown’s five points.
Marhofer and Robinson both had 12 points to lead the Eagles, with Robinson adding four rebounds and three steals. Brown finished with seven points and Trevor McComber had four points, four assists and three steals.
Farwell (2-5 overall, 1-3 JPC) hosts Clare tonight (Friday) and plays at Roscommon on Wednesday.
