Farwell High Schools Marching Band had a great marching season this year. The marching season started out with the 2014 Band Camp held at The Springs over near Gladwin where the band spent the entire week to start putting their show together. The bands performances started off even before school officially started with their first football game and of course the band marched in the annual Farwell Labor Day Parade.

Once school got under way the band helped show their school spirit and support for the football team at each and every home football game.
The first part of October saw the Marching Eagles performing in the Cadillac Marching Band Review and the Midland Marching Band Exhibition. They also took second place at the Alma College Marching Band Competition. At that show the band also received awards of excellence in Marching, Music, Color Guard and Percussion.

This year the Band was under the direction of Mr. Shimmons along with the assistance of Percussion Instructor John Manley, Color Guard Instructor Nina Buccilli and their students were always under the careful eye of Lisa Gross who was their Nurse.

Many parents helped out the band throughout the season – Pam Grider helped with the maintenance and care of uniforms, Ron Grider and Don Frost helped haul the band trailer to rehearsals and performances, Don Frost also did extensive work on the band trailer and helped fabricate several carts to haul uniforms and equipments. Don and April Frost, John Pfliemann and Dakota Weldon were our equipment crew at many of our performances! The band could not do what they do without the help or amazing Band Boosters like these and many others!
