Fibromyalgia Network Of Midmichigan is the local organization This support group for people with Fibromyalgia and Chronic Pain was created for those in Mid Michigan to have a place to interact with each other.  Discussion topics are based on the needs of the members of the group.  We meet on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays @ at St. Johns Lutheran Church 1004 N McEwan (across from Stevenson-Wyman Funeral home and next to the “Red Door Thrift Shop).  Contact Lori Lucy, RN MSN at 989-386-6113.
Our national organization,  the National Fibromyalgia & Chronic Pain Association is working to support people with fibromyalgia and chronic pain by building a united patient and health care community to create a strong voice and organizational base to educate and execute advocacy programs regarding access to care, research, diagnosis and treatment for people suffering with chronic pain from fibromyalgia and overlapping conditions.  They can be contacted through their website:
Although FM affects so many people and is devastating physically, emotionally, financially, and in interpersonal relationships, it is still mostly unknown by the general public and misunderstood by the medical community.  FM receives very little federal research funding to find the answers to: What is it? What causes it? and What is the best treatment for it?
