Pamela Jean McMann, 54, of Flint, is lodged in the Clare County Jail on charges of resisting arrest, malicious destruction of property and assault.
She is also facing charges of fleeing the scene of an accident and operating a vehicle under in influence in Isabella County.
According to Joshua Lator of the Mt. Pleasant State Police Post, Friday, March 16, around 3:40 p.m., State Police Troopers were called to the scene of a one vehicle accident near US-10 and Clareola Road in Osceola County’s Orient Township. The driver had fled the scene on foot and a Trooper and canine were dispatched to the scene to track the suspect.
While that investigation was underway, a Clare County Deputy was dispatched to M-115 and US-10 to investigate the report of a possibly intoxicated woman staggering in the roadway.
When the Deputy located the woman, she did not reveal that she had been involved in an accident. The Deputy assisted McMann by taking her to a family member’s home where she suddenly became violent and attacked another subject.
McMann was arrested for assault and transported to the Clare County Jail. On the way there she became violent again and broke a window out of the Deputy’s vehicle. Once the Deputy and McMann arrived at the Sheriff’s Department, officers learned she had been involved in the Osceola County crash.
Clare County Lt. Ed Williams, who is also the acting Undersheriff, said the vehicle window was repaired in-house.
McMann was taken to MidMichigan Medical Center – Clare for evaluation before being lodged at the Clare County Jail, Lator said.
According to Clare County Prosecutor Michelle Ambrozaitis, McMann was arraigned in 80th District Court Monday on three counts: one count of malicious destruction of Fire or Police property, a four-year felony; one count of resisting/obstructing a police officer, a two-year felony; and one count of assault and battery. Her bond was set at $5,000/10 percent. A preliminary examination was set for April 2 at 2 p.m. according to Ambrozaitis.
McMann remains lodged in the Clare County Jail.
