Some traditions just can’t be missed if you live in Michigan, the Farwell Lumberjack Festival is one of them. For the last 15 years visitors from across the state have descended on the community for three days of family fun on the grounds surrounding the city park.

Beautiful weather and sunny skies brought people out in droves this year to check out the craft show in the park where some of the most talented craftsmen and artist in the state displayed and sold their unique creations to eager shoppers. On the rail trail a large pavilion tent filled with picnic tables gave young and old a place out of the heat to grab a snack and relax while others took part in the many events ranging from a kiddie tractor pull, greased pig competition, ladies rubber chicken throw, skillet toss and more.

In the carving arena chain saw artists converted simple logs into stunning works of art right before the eyes of amazed spectators. Across the street the ever popular Lumberjack Show once again entertained young and old with their antics and amazing skills.

Overall the 2015 Farwell Lumberjack Festival was another huge success thanks to all the volunteers and merchants who came together to make it all happen.  As the sawdust settles on 2015 plans are already in the works for 2016 when chainsaws will roar once again at the Farwell Lumberjack Festival tentatively set for July 22, 23 & 24, 2016.
