Charles Alexander Girardin, 26, of Harrison, is lodged in the Clare County Jail following his assault on an officer and escape August 9.
According to information from Clare County Sheriff John Wilson, Deputies arrested Girardin at the Deer Trail Motel in Harrison on warrants from BAYANET.
Although handcuffed, Girardin assaulted Deputy David Aldrich, kicking him, and was able to escape.
The Sheriff’s Department issued a “most wanted” report on the suspect.
Girardin turned himself in to the Sheriff’s Department on Saturday, August 11, Wilson said.
According to information from Clare County Prosecutor Michelle Ambrozaitis, he was arraigned in 80th District Court Monday on the following charges:
* one count of Assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder, a felony with punishment of ten years or $5,000 fine; DNA to be taken upon arrest.
*three counts of Assaulting/Resisting/Obstructing a police officer, each a felony with penalty of two years and/or $2,000 fine.
*one count of Escape from Lawful Custody, a misdemeanor punishable by one year or $1,000.
*two counts of Habitual Offender second offense. Girardin was convicted of Retail Fraud 1st Degree on June 7, 2011.
*three counts of Controlled Substance – Delivery on School or Library Property less than 50 grams, each a felony punishable by two to 60 years in prison and up to $75,000 fine.
*one count of Operating a Vehicle with suspended/revoked or denied license, a misdemeanor punishable by 93 days and/or $500 fine and vehicle Immobilization.
*one count of Operation of a Vehicle without Security (insurance) a misdemeanor punishable by up to one year and fine of from $200 to $500.
*one count of Larceny of $200 to $999 (stealing a go-cart) a misdemeanor punishable by up to one year and/or $2,000 or three times the value of the stolen property.
Bail was set at $200,000 cash surety. Girardin was lodged at the Clare County Jail.
