Girl scouts give items to baby girl

For 11 years, Girl Scout Service Unit 582 of Isabella County has been giving baby items to the first baby girl born at McLaren Central Michigan on or after March 12, the anniversary of the Girl Scouts.  The lucky recipient, Amelia Rose Detwiler, was born March 12, weighing eight pounds, six ounces, and measuring 22 inches long.  Kirsten Detwiler, mother of Amelia and Weidman resident, was very thankful for all the beautiful gifts, which included clothing, blankets, toys, a special Girl Scout onesie, and Girl Scout cookies.

The service unit, which includes around 400 girls across Isabella County at all Girl Scout program levels, raised approximately $200 from cookie sales to purchase the items.
