Gladwin woman injured trying to avoid deer

A 49-year-old Gladwin woman, Gladys Dangler, was seriously injured in an accident last Saturday when she tried to avoid hitting a deer on Beaverton Road just west of Athey Avenue.

Clare County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to the scene around 1:45 a.m. Deputies investigating the accident said in trying to avoid hitting the deer, the woman left the roadway and hit a tree.

She was taken by Mobile Medical Response to the Clare Municipal Airport and flown to Saginaw Covenant Hospital. Deputies at the scene reported she had leg injuries, but they weren’t life threatening.

The CCSD was assisted at the scene by Clare City Police, Clare Fire Department, MMR, Life Net and Clute’s Towing.
