Golf ball drop aids needy

9-26-14 santagolfballdrop3Winners of the Project Kids Christmas Golf Ball Drop held at Eagle Glen Golf Course in Farwell on Saturday, September 20th, are:

1st: Mary Cooper of Harrison

2nd: Carolyn O’Neal of Farwell

3rd: Rourke Brummette of Grand Ledge

Santa was there to help drop the golf balls and announce the winning numbers.

Thank you to Eagle Glen Golf Course for hosting this even, to our Santa, and all the volunteers that promoted the ticket sales. The raffle made $1,058 to be used to purchase Christmas gifts for low income Clare County children. The gifts will be distributed at this year’s Clare County Project Kids Christmas Outreach (PKC) Saturday, December 6th, 2014.

There is still a ways to go to reach this year’s goal which is to help 500 hundred needy children have gifts on Christmas day. Items needed by December 5th, 2014, are toys $15 – $20 value, hats, mittens, new and gently used coats, new blankets, and personal items, such as, shampoo, toilet paper, etc. Donations can be dropped off at Clare Co DHS at 725 Richard Dr. in Harrison, 9 am – 4 pm, Monday through Friday.

If you would prefer not to shop you can always donate cash. Cash donations made out to the State of Michigan will be used to purchase toys and food baskets.
