Busy Bee Story Time

Rummage & Bake Sale

Faith Lutheran Church of Harrison is holding a rummage and bake sale on Saturday, October 6th, from 9:00am through 4:00pm. Come, scour over hundreds of items and dozens of baked goods. Faith Lutheran Church is located a mile east of Wilson State Park at 2770 E. Townline Lake Rd, Harrison.

Clare County Free Food Distribution

The next Clare County free Food Distribution and Nutritional Education event will be on Saturday, October 6th. Registration starts at 9:00 a.m. at the Harrison Palace Senior Center at 212 S. Broad St. in Harrison.
The food will be distributed beginning at approximately 11:00 a.m. in the parking lot of the Clare County Building.

Vaccination Clinic

The Central Michigan District Health Department (CMDHD) will hold a Flu and Hepatitis A Vaccine Clinic for adults at the Harrison Palace Senior Center starting at 9:00 a.m. There will be regular dose and high dose flu vaccines available.

Empty The Shelters Day

Clare County Animal Shelter is pleased to announce that we have once again been chosen to participate in the Bissell Pet Foundation’s Empty The Shelters Day! This fall’s event is scheduled for Saturday, October 6, and we will be open for adoptions from 10 am to 2 pm. On this day only, BPF will pay the adoption fees on any dog or cat that has already been spayed or neutered! ($10 license guarantee/incentive fee will still apply to all dogs). Lake Station Trailhead Ribbon Cutting & Grand Opening

Help us celebrate the newest trailhead on the Pere Marquette State trail. Stay awhile, enjoy some cider and a doughnut, and take in the colorful view under the October skies. Enter in a drawing to win a bike and make a scarecrow!

Breast Cancer Benefit

Two Timers Gallery

The 515 Gallery is excited to announce a unique exhibition of two Chicago based artists, Wayne Bertola and Kevin Riordan with a free public opening reception scheduled for Saturday, October 6th from 6-8 pm in downtown Clare. This show, “Two Timers” will intrigue the public with its diversity of assemblage, collage, and mixed media compositions.
“Two Timers” exhibit at 515 Gallery in downtown Clare opens Saturday evening October 6th at 6 pm and runs through November 17, 2018. 515 Gallery hours are Wednesdays through Saturdays 11-4 pm.

Coffee & Connect

Come Coffee & Connect with us at Cops & Doughnuts on the SECOND Tuesday of every month at 8:30 AM. Thanks to their great generosity, delicious Cops & Dougnuts coffee will be donated. Doughnuts, food, and other tasty treats will be available as always for purchase.
A casual, supportive, and ongoing event giving the public a chance to connect to others in our community. Staff from the Northern Michigan Mobile Child Advocacy Center will be present and willing to answer any questions and to provide support and friendship to the group. Other community agencies will also be invited to do the same.

Living Hope Lutheran Church free clothing store will be open on Tuesday, Cotober 9th from 9am to 3pm and on Tuesday, October 23rd from 9am to 3pm. We continue to receive lots of donations so we should have something for everyone. Come in and see what we have for you.

Quilt Block Trail Tour

The Clare County Arts Council is sponsoring a Quilt Block Trail Ride on Saturday, October 13th from 1-4 PM. Meet the chartered bus at the John C. Magnus Center located at 3200 S. Clare Ave., Clare across from Camp Rotary.
This is a new route this year allowing you to view over 30 Quilt Blocks while passing through Harrison, Temple, Lake George, Lake, and Farwell.
Limited tickets are $10 and are available at the Doherty Hotel front desk.
