Harrison business man murdered in Temple

On January 18, 2013 the Clare County Central Dispatch received a call of a deceased body at a residence on Huckleberry Trail just South of M-61 in Redding Township of Clare County. Upon arrival Deputies from the Clare County Sheriff Department found a 68 year old Harrison man deceased inside the residence. During the investigation it was discovered that the male had been shot one time.

Clare County Sheriff Detective and Deputies along with two Michigan State Police Detectives and the Michigan State Police Crime Lab continued to investigate the situation throughout the night. Detectives worked with Prosecuting Attorney Michelle Ambrozaitis and obtained several search warrants to assist in their investigation.

Detectives were able to find information at approximately 0600 hours on January 19, 2013 that led them to a suspect in the Remus area of Mecosta County. Clare County and Michigan State Police Detectives went to a residence along with the cooperation of the Saginaw Chippewa Tribal Police Department led to the arrest of a 32 year old female from Remus. She is currently lodged in the Clare County jail. She will be formally charged and arraigned in the 80th District Court.

The deceased has been identified as Floyd Dennis, former owner of Kern’s Grocery in Dodge City.
