A once bustling 1900’s Ford garage in Harrison is serving the community of Harrison again. The nearly forgotten historical building has been refurbished to become the Harrison City Market, Garden Grille & Gallery.

On Thursday night October 20th area residents and dignitaries gathered celebrate the grand opening of the of the market with an open house and ribbon cutting.
State Director for Michigan James J. Turner; City of Harrison City Manager Tracey Beadle; Michigan District 97 Representative Joel Johnson; Representative for US Congressman John Moolenaar, Ashton Bortz and others spoke to gathered guests about the significance of the project to the community.

The Harrison City Market managed by Debby Andrew was conceived through a Federal Grant to help Communities start up new businesses. Mentors, business machines and business educators will be available to those needing assistance in all and any aspects involved in start ups.

The Market space houses a business incubator and commercial kitchen.  In addition to the kitchen a farmers/artisan

market will be open year around. There are also plans for seasonal uses of the building.

“Direct to consumer markets like this play a key role in developing local and regional economies
that support farmers, artists and craftspeople,” said Director James T. Turner. “They bring people together, connect communities and provide Americans with products from local producers. The business incubator and commercial kitchen in this facility will directly impact businesses in the area to help them grow and expand.”.
