A domestic dispute in Harrison led to the arrest of a Harrison couple for possession of marijuana earlier this month.

Deputies were called to the Mayfield home on Harding Avenue in Greenwood Township after they received a complaint of a domestic assault from a family member at the home on January 4th.
When officers responding arrived, they reported that they noticed the odor of marijuana. Deputies then obtained a search warrant for the home of Clare County Clerk Pamela Mayfield where the complaint had originated.

Clare County Sheriff John Wilson stressed that the County Clerk had nothing to do with the incident.
After searching the residence and discovering a “significant” amount of marijuana there, they proceeded to the Richard Drive home where Aaron Micko Davis, 40, and Jessica Kay Mayfield, 32, resided. Consent was given for a search there as well and officers found another undisclosed amount of marijuana at that residence.

The matter was turned over to the Clare County Prosecutor who issued warrants for the couple’s arrest.
On January 7 Aaron Davis was arrested for domestic assault and possession of the drug and Jessica Mayfield was arrested for possession of marijuana.

Both were arraigned on the charges in 80th District Court on January 8 by Magistrate Karen Willing.
Davis was charged with one count of Possession of Marijuana, a misdemeanor punishable by up to one year in jail and/or a $2,000 fine and one count of Domestic Violence – 2nd offense a misdemeanor punishable by up to one year in jail and/or a $1,000 fine. His bond was set at $4,000 cash surety/ten percent.

Mayfield was charged with one count of Possession of Marijuana, a misdemeanor punishable by up to one year in jail and/or a $2,000 fine. She was given a PR (Personal Recognizance) bond.

Both have been released from jail. A Pre-Trial hearing for both was held on Wednesday.
