Harrison man charged with armed assault

William Usher, 29 of Harrison was arrested December 5th after he allegedly pointed a gun at a 29-year-old Harrison man during an argument.

Clare County deputies were called to a residence in the 200 block of Davis Street in Lincoln Township around 7:13 p.m.

The victim was uninjured during the altercation and Usher had left the scene when deputies arrived, a release from the Clare County Sheriff’s Office said. He was later located when deputies spotted him in his vehicle and pulled him over at the intersection of Lake George Street and Arthur Road. He was taken into custody and deputies recovered a handgun and two long guns during the traffic stop.

Usher was lodged in the Clare County Jail until he was arraigned the next day in 80th District Court by Magistrate Steven Worpell on charges authorized by Clare County Prosecutor Michelle Ambrozaitis including: Assault with a dangerous weapon/CCW violation and weapons, firearms –improper possession in or around a motor vehicle.

Bond was set at $10,000 cash/surety ten percent.

Usher has posted bond and was released from the jail pending his next court date.
