Clare’s annual Business Expo is fast approaching with a special festive break from winter’s recent frigid cabin fever days.
The 16th annual Expo next Thursday will showcase approximately 60 area businesses spread throughout the historic Doherty Hotel and Convention Center, all sporting the nostalgic “hippie era” theme of “Peace, Love and Increased Sales.” Everyone is invited.
Mark your calendar for Thursday, February 21 from 1-7 to attend and see what the area’s businesses have to offer this year to beat the winter ‘blahs.’ Activities will include a contest for the ‘best decorated booth,’ the always popular ‘silent auction,’ door prizes and even a 50-50 drawing. The Expo is free for anyone that wants to attend.
The event is always changing. New venders at this year’s event include Clare Hometown Chiropractic, Central Restoration, General Agency, Travis Harrison CPA, Volunteer Energy, Healthy Styles National Health Center and Russell Cellular.
The event also helps area students and the whole community. A portion of the proceeds from the silent auction will be donated to local scholarship programs and future community events.
Later on Thursday, a special ‘Expo After Hours’ is scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m. with an entry fee of $3 per person.
Booths for the Expo are still available, Chamber Director Sue Gregory said Wednesday, although the spaces are filling fast. “We have about 55 spaces filled already,” she said, “It’s on a first-come, first-serve basis.”
If you are interested in purchasing a booth for your business, becoming a sponsor, or in donating a silent auction item, call the Clare Area Chamber of Commerce at 989-386-2442.
