Clare County Sheriff’s Deputies are looking for the owner of an older, maroon Oldsmobile Cutlass in connection with a hit-and-run accident Monday.
According to a release from Undersheriff Dwayne Miedzianowski, two people, Diana Backus, 64 of Harrison and her 16-year-old passenger received minor injuries when Backus’s 2012 Chevrolet was hit by the driver of the Cutlass, which then left the scene of the accident.
Backus was southbound on Clare Avenue at Bass Lake Road in Hayes Township when the Cutlass hit her car.
Backus and her passenger were taken to MidMichigan Medical Center – Clare by Mobil Medical Response Ambulance service for treatment.
The Sheriff’s Department is asking anyone with information about the accident, or who may have information about the driver or vehicle, which reportedly has heavy front-end damage, to call the Sheriff’s Department at 989-539-7166.
