The McBain softball team played at Harrison on Thursday night, suffering setbacks in both games on the non-league twin-bill, 10-0 and 9-0.
Katelyn Loeks took the loss in game one and Alex Ford took the loss in the night cap.
“We struggled at the plate against the strong pitching of Harrison’s junior pitcher (Allison Lipovsky),” McBain head coach Jenny Hoaglund said.
Maddie Barnette had one hit in each game, with Ford, Katie O’Keefe, Kyleigh Huttenga and Meredith Hamlet all added singles on the day.
On Wednesday, April 9 the Lady Ramblers hosted Frankfort in another non-league doubleheader, losing game one 11-6 and winning game two 11-7.
Loeks suffered the loss in game one, giving up eight runs in two innings, while striking out two batters and walking three.
Gabby Hoaglund had one single and one RBI.
Hoaglund earned the win in game two, giving up seven runs in six innings, while striking out 11, walking two and giving up six hits.
Hoaglund also hit a three-run homer in the first inning, propelling the Ramblers to the win.
McBain (1-3) played at Onekma on Thursday and plays at Pine River April 24.
