Hutchinson faces charges

A 47 year-old Lake George man is facing criminal charges, resulting from a one-car accident on M-66 in Osceola County last Friday, according to a press release from the Michigan State Police.

The driver, R.J. Hutchinson and two passengers, a 50 year-old Evart woman and a 12 year-old Evart boy were all injured in the accident on Sylvan Township near 7 Mile Road. The woman’s and boy’s names were not released.

Hutchinson was arrested for OWI Child Endangerment, Driving on a Suspended License and Violation of the Basic Speed Law – Too Fast For Road Conditions.

Hutchinson was hospitalized at Spectrum Health in Reed City for injuries sustained in the crash and the two passengers were also treated at the hospital.

Because of his injuries, Hutchinson’s court appearance in Osceola County’s 77th District Court has been scheduled for February 5 at 9 a.m.

State Police Troopers were assisted in the investigation of the traffic crash by Child Protective Services. The investigation results are pending toxicology results, according to Sgt. Eric Sumpter of the MSP Mount Pleasant Post.
