Icy roads cause bus, 2 vehicles to collide on Townline

March 27, 2015

A First Student Transportation School Bus carrying Harrison students was involved in an accident when icy roads caused a truck that had passed the bus to slide backwards into the front of the bus.
The accident occurred on morning of March 25, on East Townline Road, east of North Clare Ave in Harrison.

The accident began when the school bus failed to make it up a hill due to the icy roadway. The truck then tried to pass and slid backwards. A second vehicle also attempted to pass and slid in to the driver’s rear corner of the bus.

Minor damage was caused to the vehicles involved. Students that were on the bus at the time of the accident were uninjured. The Clare County Road Commission arrived on the scene, salted the road, and all vehicles were able to drive away from the accident.
