Jack Bowie Potter–age 82, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, at his home in Farwell. Jack was born on May 31, 1929, the son of Robert and Alva (Hubert) Potter in Detroit. He proudly served his country with the United States Army Air Force with service on the “Crash, Fire & Rescue” unit. He worked as a primary airplane and engine mechanic,and was appointed a Corporal in the 10th Maintenance Squadron and Supply Group at Pope Air Force Base, Ft. Bragg, NC. He was employed as a Millwright with Ford Motor Company until his retirement on June 1, 1992. He was married to Annetta Martin on June 29, 1968, and together they raised four children.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years; Annetta, one son, Frank and wife Peggy, three daughters; Laura Lange, Daniece Roney, Debra McIntosh, eight grandchildren; Stephen, Mark, Michael L., Michael M., Michelle, Christopher, Shelby, Gage, nine great-grandchildren; Alexis, Katelin, Madilyn, Cole, Abbie, Kasey, Logan, Kurt, Avery, brother George and wife Irma Potter, three sisters; Jennie Brast, June Chipman and husband Kenny, Linda Thomas and husband Bill, and numerous family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by five brothers, Neil, Bob, Edward, Kenneth, Paul, and one sister Shirley McLennon.
A Memorial of Jack’s life will be held on Sunday, August 28, 2011 at 2PM at the Campbell-Stocking Family Funeral Home.
