Joyce was born the daughter of Francis Charles and Mary (McKay) Haag on December 24, 1931 in Michigan.
She was united in marriage to Harry Stephens in 1950.
Joyce had lived in the Clare area since moving from Jonesville at an early age. She had retired from the Cafeteria at the Clare Primary School.
Joyce loved to cook, sew dolls and tend her rose garden. She had bowled in a local league and was a great bowler. Joyce had a fondness for all animals.
Joyce is survived by her husband Harry; children Michael and John both of Clare, Tom (Kim) of Gladwin and Karla Osborn of Clare; a brother Charles Haag and a sister Delores Mester both of Clare; five grandchildren Jennifer Brockway, Rebecca Stephens, Joanna Osborn, Nichole (Chad) Tobey and Dustin Newman and three great grandchildren Jase Brockway, Jackson Moeller and Kendal Tobey. Joyce was predeceased by her parents and siblings Jenny Schmit, Walter Haag and Harry Haag.
Services will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at the Clare Chapel of Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home at 2 P.M. with Mr. Bill Stough officiating. Burial will follow in the Vernon Twp. Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday at the funeral home from 2-5 and 7-9 P.M. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
