Lady Eagles spike two opponents

The Farwell volleyball team played at Evart in an early season tri-match on Wednesday, Aug. 29. The Lady Eagles picked up wins over host Evart and Montabella on the night.

“We’re making progress,” head coach John Pakledinaz said. “The team needs to continue to learn to play together. We have a lot of new parts and they have to gel as a unit.”

Against Montabella, Farwell picked up a win by scores of 25-13 and 25-12.

Soyer Barnett had nine aces, two digs and served at 95-percent and Kendall Hickey had three aces and four digs. Mariah Norbury led the team in digs with five.

Against host Evart, Farwell won with scores of 25-22 and 25-18.

Mia Fetzer and Isabel Murphy had four aces each and Murphy served at 100-percent. Sydney Seybert led the way on defense with nine digs with Hickey, Murphy and Lyndsi Hanna adding four digs each.
Farwell hosted Harrison on Wednesday in its Jack Pine Conference opener, heads to Manton on Saturday, hosts Bullock Creek on Monday and is at home with Gladwin Wednesday.
