The Harrison Lady Hornets dropped a non-league game at Coleman Tuesday night, suffering a 41-32 setback.
“Coleman beat us on the boards and up the court, defense has to tighten up,” Harrison head coach Kelly Cook said. “We are putting more points on the board this year but there are a few holes in the defense that needs to be sewn up. Coleman is much improved with athleticism and speed from last year both at junior varsity and varsity levels.”
The Lady Comets led 9-7 after the first quarter and pulled ahead 23-10 at the half. Coleman retained control in the third to lead 35-23 entering the fourth.
Jessica Scherrer led Harrison with 14 points and 14 rebounds, Nicole Willman had six points and Lexi LaChappa had five.
Harrison opened up Jack Pine Conference play on Friday, Dec. 6, falling to visiting Houghton Lake 52-32.
The Lady Bobcats took leads of 15-7 after the first, 24-16 at the half and 38-22 entering the fourth quarter.
Willman led the Hornets with eight points and Scherrer had seven points and nine rebounds.
Harrison (0-3 overall, 0-1 JPC) hosted Beaverton Thursday and plays at Roscommon on Tuesday.
