Their season may have been over but the Harrison Lady Hornet softball came to play in their Jack Pine Conference make-up doubleheader in Gladwin on Wednesday, May 28, winning by scores of 8-7 and 7-5.
“We improved a lot over the season and the girls worked hard every day,” Harrison head coach Matt Cooper said. “We will miss the seniors, the underclassmen have big shoes to fill next year.”
Allison Lipovsky got the win, pitching all seven innings and seven runs, three earned on six hits, 15 strikeouts and two walks.
Haley Sulla had three hits and an RBI, Kate Sherrick had three hits, Mackenzie Lincoln had one hit and three RBI, with Lipovksy, Savannah Allen and Dani Cullen adding one hit apiece.
Lipovsky pitched another complete game to win the second game, giving up five runs, two earned on four hits, 13 strikeouts and one walk. Lipovsky also had three hits and four RBI on offense.
Allen had two hits and two RBI, Lincoln had a hit and drove in a run, Sherrick had a hit as did Kourtney Krchmar.
Harrison finishes the season 24-9 overall and 8-6 JPC.
