The Clare volleyball team got the better of rival Farwell on Monday. The host Lady Pioneers took care of the Lady Eagles in straight sets, 25-20, 25-15 and 25-18 in Jack Pine Conference play.

“After two big wins against Pine River and Roscommon last week, the confidence level of this team was solid and we wanted to carry the energy and effort from those two wins coming into this match,” Clare head coach Shannon Zinser said. “Defensively we were very solid. Peyton Hubel, Haley Miller, Jenna Betts and Olivia Cook were a presence on the net, which kept Farwell struggling to get many kills. Jayce Jordan and Kennedy Blackburn led in digs for the night, with the team as a while digging up 46 hits.”

Hubel led the passing game with 24 assists and the team totaled 27 kills, led by Blackburn, Cami Miller and Cook.

“As a team we served aggressively throughout the night, racking up 11 serving aces with Miller and Jordan topping the leaderboard,” Zinser said.

Clare seniors Cami Miller and Peyton Hubel were recognized as a part of senior night.
