The road was unkind for the Clare girls basketball team Monday night, as the Lady Pioneers fell to host Big Rapids, 70-31 in a non-conference game.

On Thursday, Jan. 21 the Lady Pioneers hosted Meridian in a Jack Pine Conference game, picking up a 59-30 victory.

Clare led 16-11 after the first quarter and build itself a double digit lead in the second, leading 26-13 at the break. The Pioneers made their lead 36-19 entering the fourth, then had its best offensive frame of the night with 26 more points.

Lexy Harton led the way for Clare with 19 points, Peyton Hubel had a strong night as well with 18 and Bailey Hubel had five. Annie Cole and Holly Pummell netted four points apiece
Clare (6-4 overall, 6-2 JP C) was at Gladwin on Thursday, hosts Houghton Lake Tuesday and is at Beaverton on Thursday.
