Legion honors two WWII veterans

American Legion Post 404 of Harrison hosted a unique ceremony last week in which two highly decorated World War II veterans were honored.
One of the veterans who was honored was PFC Anthony G. Gallardo.

Gallardo served in the U.S. Air Force/U.S. Army Air Corp from October 7, 1942 to November 24, 1945. He received the Good Conduct Medal, World War II Victory Medal, American Campaign Medal, Marksman Badge with Rifle Bar and an Honorable Service Lapel.

The other veteran who was honored was Robert S. Jenkins.
Jenkins served in the U.S. Army as a TEC4 from August 12, 1943 to April 30, 1946. He received the Bronze Star Medal,

Good Conduct Medal, Presidential Unit Citation, American Campaign Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with 2 bronze service stars with arrowhead, World War II Victory Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge 1st Award, Expert Infantryman Badge, Honorable Service Lapel Button WWII, Expert Badge with Rifle Bar, and Marksman Badge with Rifle Bar.
