A 26-year-old Lake man, a registered sex offender, is facing first degree criminal sexual conduct charges.
Joshua Joseph Letts was arrested March 28 after Clare County Sheriff Department Detectives received a complaint March 27 that he was spending a lot of time with a 13-year-old girl. After the one-day investigation Letts was arrested on the first degree CSC charges. He was arraigned in 80th District Court and bond was set at $500,000 cash.
Letts is currently lodged in the Clare County Jail awaiting a preliminary exam on the charges.
CSC – 1st degree (involving sexual penetration) is a felony punishable by from 25 years to life in prison.
