Marshall, Gunden, Hamilton win Farwell seats

Farwell Village Council incumbents Elton Marshall, and Vicky Gunden were re-elected to four-year terms on the board in Tuesday’s election.

30 voters turned out for the annual Village election. Marshall earned 17 votes in his bid for another term on the board and Gunden earned 19 votes.

Two challengers were also on the ballot: Gina Hamilton who collected 16 votes finished third and therefore won a council seat,  and Kay Williams with 7 votes was not elected. Incumbent Gary Maki, lost out on the third seat by one vote. He had 15.

Village President Steven Grim was also re-elected to another two year term on the Council. He was unopposed in his bid for the seat. Grim has been on the Council for 32 years , serving all but one that he was elected to as Village President. Elton Marshall is another long-term council member, on the board all but two years since 1958 and serving as Village President for two years.

Maki has been a Council member for ten years and Gunden has served since 2004.
