McInnis gets DAR award

1-31-14 McInnis receives awardPatrick W. McInnis, nineteen year old son of William and Annajeanelle McInnis has been selected by the Isabella Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution to receive the Community Service Award.

The award recognizes worthy individuals for outstanding, unpaid voluntary achievements in cultural, educational, humanitarian, patriotic, historical, educational, or environmental conservation endeavors.

McInnis played Taps for various veterans’ events such as Memorial Day, and Veterans Day. and at six different cemeteries around the county during the Wreaths Across America program. He also played for the Mt. Pleasant Masonic 9/11 Honors Dinner and for programs at his church, First Presbyterian in Mt. Pleasant.

McInnis, a member of the Farwell High School marching band and pep band, graduated in 2013 and presently is attending Mid Michigan Community College.
