Farwell couldn’t dent the scoreboard and allowed Meridian to do so far too often Friday night, falling to the host Mustangs 52-0 in both team’s Jack Pine Conference opener.
Dan Burns opened the scoring with a 40 yard field goal in the first quarter, with Meridian adding a Zach Arthur 48 yard touchdown run with 3:17 to play in the first.
The Mustangs took control of the game in the second quarter, scoring three times in the stanza to pull ahead 31-0 at the half.
Arthur scored again in the third quarter, with the Mustangs adding two fourth quarter touchdowns to account for the final.
Jake Turner was two-of-nine passing for 23 yards and one interception and also ran 13 times for 43 yards. Keegan Rohdy added 12 carries for 40 yards and one catch for 20 yards.
Turner had an interception to lead the defense.
Farwell (2-1 overall, 0-1 JPC) play at Roscommon (2-1, 1-0). The Bucks, who topped Farwell 20-12 last year are coming off a 30-8 win over Harrison last week.
