9-20-13 Farwell Golf IMG_2313The Farwell girls golf team competed in the Panther Invitational at the Pine River Country Club in Alma on Monday, winning the tournament by shooting a record score of 383.

Bria Colosky shot an 83 to come in first place, Sammie Baldwin was second with an 86, Kasey Staley was third with a 97 and Haley Lewis shot a 117.

“I am excited about the scores the girls are posting,” head coach TJ Staley said. “The freshmen are really stepping up. This was Kasey’s best round by two strokes and Haley improved seven strokes from her best this year. WE have the potential to shoot in the 360 range which would make us competitive at the state level. I see at least 20 strokes that we could knock off our team score chipping and putting.”

The Lady Eagles competed in a nine-hole match at Mt. Pleasant Sacred Heart on Thursday, compete today at the Traverse City Country Club and are in Big Rapids on Sept. 30.
