Kathleen Kolb of Mt. Pleasant had a lucrative internet business going until State Police Troopers interrupted her supply of merchandise.
Kolb was allegedly taking items from the Mt. Pleasant Menard’s store and selling them on eBay.
Kolb was arrested for Retail Fraud 1st Degree based on a January 8 incident. She had been under investigation since January 1, when Menard’s personnel alerted the MSP Mt. Pleasant Post that a woman was possibly stealing electronic dog collars from the store. Investigators said Kolb had allegedly been stealing from the store since last October. Menards showed a loss from the thefts totaling over $10,000.
A release from the Mt. Pleasant State Police said Kolb was observed by Menard’s personnel entering the store January 8. Troopers detained the woman when she exited with stolen electronic dog collars and invisible fencing and reportedly she admitted to stealing the items.
The Isabella Trial Court issued an arrest warrant for Kolb. She surrendered and was arraigned on March 21. A preliminary exam has been scheduled for March 28.
