An animal control complaint on an aggressive dog Monday morning led to Mt. Pleasant Police officers being dispatched to a residence on the west side of the City at 10:12 a.m. where 24-year-old Bianca Nieto, a resident of the home and the dog’s owner, was discovered deceased in the home.

Nieto’s family was notified Monday. Officers reported that Nieto didn’t return phone calls or text messages from family members and did not report to work.

The MPPD and the Saginaw Chippewa Tribal Police are currently investigating what they called a “suspicious death.” They said there are no known health issues that would have contributed to Nieto’s death.

The Michigan State Crime Lab was called in to assist due to the circumstances of the scene. And the matter is an open investigation by Mt. Pleasant Police Detectives, pending the report from the Medical Examiner’s office.
