In last week’s front page article, “Larceny report leads to meth lab,” it was reported that a meth lab had been found September 27 when Clare County Deputies went to investigate a report of stolen property at a Franklin Township home.
According to new information received from a neighbor and verified by Investigating Detective Mike Coon, the meth lab was actually found in the yard of the suspects’ home, not in the victim’s home as indicated by the police press release. During the investigation, information led deputies to the home nearby, then a warrant was issued.
A tip that one man had already been arrested in connection with the drug bust could not be verified. Coon said no arrests have been made yet in connection with the meth operation, which is still under investigation. Clare County Prosecutor Michelle Ambrozaitis said, “I have not received a police report detailing that particular situation….which indicates to me that no one has been arrested yet.”
The meth lab was found in a travel trailer in the suspect’s front yard, Coon said. It was removed from the scene.
