Bernard D. Houseman, 90, of Clare, died Sunday March 31, 2013 at Tendercare, Clare. He was born in Alanson, Michigan, June 12, 1922, the son of the late Louis & Effie (Belser) Houseman. Bernie married Ila M. Allen November 27, 1946 in Lansing. He was a U. S. Army Veteran tank commander serving with General Patton during WWII. Bernie retired from General Motors Oldsmobile Division in 1982 after 30 years of service.
He is survived by his wife Ila of Clare and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his two brothers Basil and Keith Houseman.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Wednesday April 3, 2012 at the Coleman Wesleyan Church with Rev. Jack Steenbergh officiating. Burial will take place in the Warren Township Cemetery, Coleman. Friends may call at the O’Laughlin Funeral Home, Inc. on Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm and at the church on Wednesday starting at 10 am until the time of services. Memorials are suggested to the Coleman Wesleyan Church of the Salvation Army.
