Betty Jane Bayliss

Betty Jane Bayliss 94 of rural Harrison passed away peacefully on Monday, October 16, 2017. Betty was born October 23, 1922 in Flint, Michigan the daughter of10-20-17 OBIT Bayliss Rex Joseph and Anna (Mascall) Kingsley. On November 15, 1941, Betty was united in marriage to Mr. Wallace E. Bayliss. After thirty-eight years of marriage, Mr. Wallace E. Bayliss Sr. preceded Betty in death.

Mrs. Bayliss had resided in Harrison since 1975, moving from Rochester, Michgian. Betty was a member of the Harrison American Legion Post 404 Ladies Auxiliary, Order of Easter Star Chapter 408 of Harrison where she also was past Worthy Matron, a charter member of the Harrison Women of the Moose Chapter 1804 and a long-time member of the Harrison Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #3541, Ladies Auxiliary. Betty enjoyed bowling, golfing, fishing, dancing, playing various board, word and card games with her family and was considered a fierce competitor. Betty’s greatest pleasures were spending time with her family and going shopping for a good deal on shoes and purses.

Surviving Mrs. Bayliss is her loving daughter, Joanne Stamper and husband Lester of Harrison, one son, Michael Bayliss and wife Yolanda of Arizona, several grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, numerous great-great grandchildren, plus a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Mrs. Bayliss also was preceded in death by her parents, two daughters; Rexanna Edwards and Donnajane Campbell, one son, Wallace E. Bayliss Jr., one sister, June Zelinski and two brothers; Danny Kingsley and Bill Kingsley.

A Memorial Gathering honoring Mrs. Bayliss will be held Sunday, October 22, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Stocking Funeral Home, Harrison.
