Brenda Sue Norris

Brenda Sue Norris, 51, passed away in her sleep Saturday morning, Sept. 22, 2018, in her home in Elizabeth City, NC. She was born Nov. 8, 1966, in Gladwin, MI,9-28-18 OBIT Norris and moved with her family to Elizabeth City in 2000. She was a member of Corinth Baptist Church and the Covenant Sunday School class.

Brenda was a woman whose love knew no bounds. She loved her husband and children fiercely, cared ceaselessly for her entire family, and opened her heart to every child who came into her path. Working for over 15 years in North Carolina’s school systems, she was known as one who helped any person she came into contact with. She fostered 10 children during her 11 years as a foster mother and impacted the lives of countless other families. She would want it to be known that from the time she first believed at 20-years-old, her greatest love was her Savior, Jesus, in whose arms she is now resting completely.

She is survived by her husband, Barry; son and daughter-in-law, Kirk and Anna Norris, Ukraine; daughters, Cassie and Jasani Norris, Elizabeth City, NC; grandchildren, Lucy, Finn, and Evie Norris, Ukraine; mother and father, Shelia and Dean Boroughf, Beaverton, MI; maternal grandmother, Mildred Quider, Beaverton; sister and brother-in-law, Stephanie and Dylan Graham, Clare, MI; brother, James Laughton; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her daughter, Katie; brother, Michael; grandfather, Bart Quider; and great-grandmother, Doris Wilcox.

A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m., Friday, Sept 28, at Corinth Baptist Church, 1035 US-17, Elizabeth City, NC 27909; Dr. Farren Roper will officiate.
Friends may call at the Norris household (103 Fort Bragg Drive) Saturday morning between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.
