Charles Fredrick (Charlie) Tucker

Charles Fredrick (Charlie) Tucker SR., – age 84, passed away on Tuesday, January 26th, 2016 at his 1-29-16 OBIT Tucker, Charles0001home in Lake.

Charles was born to parents Norman R. and Nola Mae (Powers) Tucker on September 14, 1931 in Bloomfield Missouri.

He was a graduate of Sikeston Missouri High School after which he proudly and bravely served our country with the United States Marine Corp. He served from March 1952 until March 1954 achieving the rank of Corporal during the Korean War and was decorated with a National Defense Service Medal.
He was married to Minnie Mae Hidey in Flint, Michigan in March of 1951.  Together they raised a son.
Upon his discharge from the Marines he was employed by Buick Motor Company. He retired from Buick and moved to Lake, Michigan and was very involved in his church as a member and deacon of Bethany Baptist.

He is survived by his son Charles Tucker, Jr, of Lake, step-son Richard Vern Hidey of Harrison, a brother Brent Tucker and wife Marylou of West Plains, MO, a sister Hattie Lucille Worley of West Plains, MO, special friend and caregiver Nola Shocknesse of Lake, three grandchildren; Paul, Charles III, Amber, and four great-grandchildren; Carrie, Patricia, Danielle, and Daya, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Minnie in 2000, and brother Bill Tucker of Swartz Creek.

A funeral service is planned for Charles on Friday, January 29th, 2016 at 11 AM at the Campbell-Stocking Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Farwell.

Pastor Ralph Kiner will officiate with burial in Garfield Township Cemetery.
A Military Honors Ceremony will be led by the Honor Guard of American Legion Post # 558 of Farwell, immediately following the funeral service.
