SFC Christopher Michael Cooper – age 36, currently serving in the United States Army and stationed at Fort Custer in Battle Creek, MI, passed away on Monday, May 26, 2014. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8PM on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at Campbell Stocking Family Funeral Home, in Farwell. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 PM, by the Lake Eagles #3761. A service of remembrance will be held at 11 AM on Thursday at the Funeral Home. His final resting place will be in Great Lakes National Cemetery. The family will have an additional gathering at his sister’s home on Saturday May 31st in Willis, MI.
Christopher was born on April 26, 1978 in Garden City, Michigan. After graduating from Farwell High School in 1996, he enlisted into the United States Army. He earned the rank as Sgt. First Class and served as a foreman mechanic in transportation. Christopher enjoyed motorcycles, hunting, snowmobiling, 4-wheeling, and bowling. He married Jessica A. Porcello on August 1, 2009 in Howell, Michigan.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Jessica; children, Carter 5, Charlie Ann 3, and stepdaughter Madison 11; mother Cindy Cooper Farmer; grandparents, Les and Ruby Cooper; sister, Jennifer Farmer Mann and husband Brian; nieces, Kelsey and Ashley Mann; Aunts, Laurinda (Ron) Cunningham, Darcy Cooper, Judy Revells and Leslie Cunningham; uncles, Brian (Stacey) Cooper and Bert (Pam) Cooper (US Navy); numerous family members (17 Cousins , 11 Great Cousins)and friends.
