Mr. Douglas Lee Young, age 70, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at his home in Norton Shores. He was born in Reed City, MI on December 11, 1942 to Donovan and Marguerite (Mumy) Young and grew up in the Clare/Mount Pleasant area. After graduating from Clare High School, Doug received his Bachelor and Master’s Degree from Central Michigan University, and his Ph.D. in Industrial Organizational Psychology from Iowa State University. He loved what he did and always fully dedicated himself to his current endeavor. After college, Doug worked for Humrro at Fort Knox, KY and at the Pentagon developing training for tank drivers before joining Ford Motor Company. Doug worked for 22 years at Ford as an IO Psychologist before his retirement. After retiring, he was a corporate consultant and finally an instructor at The University of Phoenix and a volunteer as an AARP tax service worker. Doug was a dedicated blood donor and an avid, yet frustrated, deer hunter. On May 23, 1986, he married the former Catherine L. Haring in Claire, MI and she survives him along with his daughter, Denise (Greg) Coplai; two step-sons, Scott and Robb Wollney; seven grandchildren, Dillon and Zane Coplai, Brayden, Alexa, Bryana, Reese, and Savannah Wollney; and one sister, Jackie (Al) Studer. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Bill and one sister, Sandy. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, August 10, 2013 at
