Elmer LeRoy Curns

Elmer LeRoy Curns of Harrison, Michigan passed away, Thursday, November 21, 2013 at the age of 74 after a lengthy illness. Elmer was born April 12, 1939 in Roscommon County the son of Harley and Nellie Curns. He was united in marriage to Annette Judy Henry on June 15, 1963 in Harrison. Elmer served proudly in the United States Army. He enjoyed fishing and helping other people out with whatever he could. Elmer was an extremely hard worker. He will be dearly missed.
Elmer is survived by his wife of 50 years; Judy, children; Tammy Parker of Lake George, Betty Jo Miller of Corpus Christi, TX, Elmer Curns (Toni Howey) of Lake George, Teresa Chaffee of Lake George, Robert (Angela) of Prudenville, and Nikki (John) Meinhardt of Cadillac, son-in-law David Miller of Augusta, GA, siblings; Mary Pearson, Violet Henry, Carol (Marv) Bedard, Robert Curns, Bruce (Debbie) Curns, Vicky Searles, Rita (Dan) Duma,  Robyn (Ron) Monville, and David (Sue) Curns, sister- in-law; Joyce Curns, 25 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren many nieces and nephews. Elmer was preceded in death by his parents; Harley and Nellie, daughter Julie Ann Curns, sons- in-law; Earl Parker and Kenneth Chaffee, brother; William Curns, sister; Beverly Bailey, sister in-law; Sherry Curns and brothers- in-law; Maurice Henry and Sonny Bailey.
Memorial service will take place Monday, November 25, 2013 at 2:00 pm from Stocking Funeral Home, Inc. with Mr. Stacy S. Stocking officiating. Internment will take place in Maple Grove Cemetery, Harrison. Those planning a memorial contribution are asked to consider the wishes of the Curns family in care of Judy Curns.
