Esther Christine Haynack

4-19-13 OBIT-Esther Christine HaynackEsther Christine Haynack 80 of Farwell passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at McLaren Medical Center Central Michigan, Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. Esther was born April 4, 1933 in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of George and Irene (Ryer) Komornik. She was united in marriage to Edwin Haynack on May 27, 1978 in Roseville, MI.

After graduating from Eastland High School in Roseville, Michigan, she was employed by Macomb Intermediate School District for eighteen years before retiring as a secretary. During that time, Esther taught Bishop Sewing and became involved with 4H sewing. Esther and her husband Edwin moved to Farwell where they were Ballroom dance instructors for Mid Michigan Community College for many years, teaching hundreds of students the art of and their love for Ballroom dancing. They often volunteered to perform Ballroom dance demonstrations for area nursing homes and rehabilitation centers. Esther was also a long time member of the Clare County Crazy Quilters where she won awards in several categories.

Esther is survived by her husband Edwin of thirty five years, five children from her first marriage: Leonora (Webb) Sugleo of Punta Gordo, Florida, Peggy (Webb) Straathof of Fremont, Michigan, Loreen (Webb) Roths of Roseville, Michigan, Bill Webb and wife Patti of Davisburg, Michigan and George Webb and wife Bari of Utica, Michigan, sixteen grandchildren and  twenty great-grandchildren, two step-sons: Steven Haynack and wife Adriana of Umkileeo, Washington and Brian Haynack and wife Catherine of Copley, Ohio, step-grandchildren, Claire and Emma Haynack of Copley, Ohio, many nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents, Esther was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Komornik.

Funeral service for Esther will take place Monday, April 15, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. from Stocking Funeral Home with Sr. Jean T. Bauman to officiate. Visitation will take place Sunday from 4-7pm and again on Monday from 1pm until the time of service. Esther will be laid to rest in Hillcrest Cemetery.
