Howard L. Wentworth

Howard L. Wentworth, age 90 of Clare, passed away Saturday, September 7, 2013 in Aldie, Virginia. Howard was born the son of Henry and Josephine (Dora) Wentworth on May 23, 1923 in Clare. Howard served his Country during WWII in the U.S. Army. He moved to Clare from Clio in 1980, where he had worked as a Mechanic. He was united in marriage to Adeline L. Jacobs on January 21, 1956 in Mt. Pleasant, with her predeceasing him on October 20, 1991. Howard was a member of the Pettit-Kapplinger VFW Post 5738, the Clare Moose Lodge 2268 and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 3977 in Clare. While living in Clare Howard was a member of the St. Cecilia Catholic Church.

Howard is survived by his children Robert (Jasna) Wentworth of Burt, MI, Mary (Barry) Lenski of Seymour, TN, Julia Matthews of Orange Park, FL, , Clinton (Rhonda) Wentworth of Clio, MI, Gerald (Linda) Wentworth of Aldie, VA and Howard (Linda) Wentworth of Clio; five brothers Frank, Leonard, Eugene, Ed and Tom; five sisters Mabel McDonald, Agnes Akers, Sister Josepha Wentworth, Dorothy Germain and Fern White; 22 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Howard was predeceased by a son Carl; brothers Earl, Butch, Andrew and Robert and a great grandson Tony.

Services will be held on Friday, September 13, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at the St. Cecilia Catholic Church with Rev. Prentice A. Tipton, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in the St. Cecilia Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Clare Chapel of Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home on Thursday from 2-5 and 7-9 P.M.
