John “Kelly” Music

4-26-13 OBIT Music, John KelleyJohn “Kelley” Music – age 86, went to meet his Lord on Friday, April 19, 2013, at North Woods Nursing Center in Farwell. John was born on May 24, 1926 in Van Lear, KY, the son of John and Elizabeth (Witten) Music. John  spent  from1944-1946 serving our country with the United States Army. He served as a Staff  Sgt. During WWII in the Phillipines. He married his sweetheart of 64 years on  July 2, 1949 in Van Lear KY. Together they raised six children.

Kelley worked as a coal miner, and later as a tool setter, retiring from Chevrolet Gear and Axle in Detroit. He was a member of his GM UAW Local, the NRA, DAV, VFW, and American Legion. Kelley loved to hunt and attended church at Free Will Baptist Church in Warren and Bethany Baptist Church in Lake. He is survived by his beloved wife Vivian, five children; Kelley Music, Jr. and wife Sherri of Clinton Twp., Garry Music and wife MaryAnn of Clinton Twp., Philip Music of  Farwell, Timothy Music and Glenna Bradbury of Farwell, Karen Walby and husband Kirk of Royal Oak, twenty-one grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, two brothers; Walter Music and wife Jeannie of KY, Jack Music and wife Cathy of East Jordan, and four sisters; Helen Music of KY, Catherine Davis and husband Arthur of KY, Billie Holland of KY, and Bobbie Jones of Warren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Sheila Hutchins, a brother James Music, sister Libby Rhodus and two grandchildren; Shannon and Kristy.

A service for Kelley was held on Wednesday, April  24, at 11AM at the Campbell-Stocking Family Funeral Home in Farwell.  Pastor Peter Gelatt  officiated.
