Juanita Mae Green, age 88 of Clare, went to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ on Thursday, April 4, 2013 surrounded by her family. Juanita was born the daughter of Carl and Elsie Lear on April 15, 1924 in Oak Hill, Kansas. She was united in marriage to Leonel E. Green on April 17, 1942. Juanita and her family moved to Clare when she was 16 years old. She had worked for Dr. Born, Burt Kane, and Chemical Bank for 22 years. She had been a member of the Clare United Methodist Church for 70 years. She and her husband Leonel spent 27 wonderful years wintering in Florida after retirement
Juanita is survived by her husband Leonel, her daughter Sherrie (Mike) Haley of Clare; four grandchildren: Matthew (Victoria) Haley of Williamston, Mark (Mary) Haley of Clare, Chelsea (Dusty) Partello of Grayling and Denae Green of Houghton Lake; ten great-grandchildren, and her sister Darlene (Ron) Schunk. Juanita was preceded in death by her son Dennis and brothers Harold and Homer Lear. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, April 10, at 11:00 AM at the Clare United Methodist Church with Pastor Dennis Bromley and Mrs. Wilma Shurlow-Phillips officiating. Burial was in the Cherry Grove Cemetery. Friends met with the family at the Clare Chapel of Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home on Tuesday, from 6 to 9 PM. Memorials may be made to the Clare United Methodist Children’s Daycare.
