Lanny R. Haring, age 73, of Clare, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 29, at his home. He was born the son of Charles and Floy (Alwood) Haring, on Jan. 29, 1940 in Vernon Township. He married Patricia Cameron on Oct. 5, 1963 and she survives him. Lanny had lived all of his life in the Clare area, was heavy equipment operator with Operating Engineers Local 324. He was also a member of the Clare Moose Lodge and the Clare Eagles Lodge.
Survivors include his wife Patricia, his children, Lori (Robert ) Townsend, Susan Grout, Steven (Jill) Haring all of Clare, Charlie (Misti) Haring of Farwell, his grandchildren ,Abby Haring, Charlie Grout, Elizabeth, Kaitlynn, and Kyle Townsend, Brendan, Zachary, and Madison Haring, and Olivia, Nicholas, and Sydney Haring. Also surviving are his siblings, Denise’ Way, Delores Robison, Leila Butler, Glenda Butler, Lynda Hitchcock, Margo Benchley, Jim Haring, and Sharla Mitchell, his in laws, Agnes Oard, Paul Cameron, Larry Cameron, Thomas Cameron, Marcele Miller, Susan Lang, Jean Hickerson, and 250 nieces and nephews. Lanny was preceded in death by his siblings, Donna Colosky, Carl Haring, Drusilla Bigelow, Laila Phillips, and Frank Haring, and his in-laws, Lucille Plude, Kenneth Cameron, Helen Ballard, Duane Cameron, Kathy McLincha, and Richard Cameron.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 2, at 11:00 AM from the St. Cecilia Catholic Church with burial in the Vernon Township Cemetery. Friends may meet with the family at the Clare Chapel of Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home on Tuesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM.
