Leslie “Les” D. Louch

Leslie “Les” D. Louch, age 68, of Farwell, passed away at his home on Sunday, July 7, 2019.  Les was born the son of Leslie J. and Elda L (Rauch) Louch on March 10, 1951, in Evart, Michigan.  He married the former Vicky Schlafley on June 8, 1974, and she survives him.  Les was retired from Local 85 Plumbers and Steamfitters Union.  He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose in Clare, the fraternal Order of Eagles, the Sons of the American Legion Clare- Farwell Post 558, and the VFW Men’s Auxiliary Post 4353 in Pine Island, Florida.

Les is survived by his wife, Vicky, Three sons and their children, Dean and his children, Raegan and Ryan, David and his fiancée, Michelle, Stevan and Brandi and their children, Annisten, Hadley, Olive, and Ivy.  Also surviving are his sisters, Doris Rohner and Patsy Payne.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Jimmy and Wayne, his sister Joan Denton, and a nephew, Ray Louch.

 Throughout his life, Les was a true outdoorsman, chasing numerous species of wild game and fish.  The mainstay was whitetail hunting at his camps in Michigan and Missouri during the fall, Florida fishing in winter and trolling the bay all summer long.  His passion has been passed on to his kids and grandkids, which made him a proud man.  Les loved competition and sports, through coaching and mentoring his boys in Little League and later supporting his grandchildren at games, that passion will continue to live on in the Louch Family.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 9 at 2:00 PM from the Clare Chapel of Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Vernon Twp. Cemetery.  Friends may meet with his family on Tuesday from 11 AM until the service at 2PM.  After the service there will be a meal provided for the family and loved ones at the VFW in Clare. Memorials may be made to the VFW in Clare.
