Louie Gene Doughty, age 85, of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Friday, October 4, 2013 at the Isabella County Medical Care Facility.
A memorial service for Louie will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Sunday, October 6, 2013 at 3 p.m. with Pastor Jim Young officiating. Interment of ashes will take place in the Riverside Cemetery at a later date. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the time of the service at the chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the Isabella County Medical Care Facility of to Woodland Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.
Louie was born on November 15, 1927 in Ann Arbor, the son of Ole and Louise (Leight) Doughty. Louie proudly served his country in the United States Army. He married Donna Morse on March 27, 1954 in Clare. Louie worked for Leonard Refinery for 17 years before becoming the Central Michigan University Equipment Manager for the football team. Louie was a lifetime member of the VFW and loved his vehicles, which there were several over the years.
Louie is survived by his wife of 59 years, Donna; son, Brian (Laura) Doughty of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren, Kyle and Garrett Doughty; and many nieces and nephews.
Louie was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Russell and Fred Doughty; and sisters, Lorraine Griner and Virginia Dillman.
