Madalene Aletha Seiter Birkmeier, age 92, of Clare passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at her home.
Funeral Services for Madalene will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Saturday, May 11, 2013, at 2 p.m. with Pastor Chuck Moerdyk officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday, May 10, 2013 from 6 to 8 p.m. with Rebekah Services at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue on the day of the service from 1 p.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Woodland Hospice or to the Rosebush Presbyterian Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.
Madalene was born on June 11, 1920 in Vernon Township, the daughter of Richard and Mary (Marshall) Brooks. Madalene was a member of the Rosebush Presbyterian Church, the Clare Rebekah Lodge, and TOPS of Clare. She was a loving and hard working mother and grandmother. She loved to read, bake, camp, and fish.
Madalene is survived by her daughters, Lavonna (David) Hoover of Ionia, Evaleen (Jackie Hopkins) Camarata of Kentwood, and Darlene (Steve) Vagnozzi of Okemos; step-children, Michael (Madeline) Birkmeier, Marjorie Gross, Marlene (Jim) Gasper, and Barb (Steve) Kovicak; 9 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Madalene was preceded in death by her first husband, Carl Seiter; second husband, Kenneth Birkmeier; infant son, Dick; and son, Wayne Seiter.
